Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. — Rev 2:29
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God – Romans 8:14
Hearing from God personally and being led by His Spirit in a personal relationship with Him is the key to our Spiritual Life and how it can impact the world around us.
Living and preaching somebody else’s revelation is good but hearing personally from Him is even better. God wants us to live by hearing from Him and not by living by certain principles alone. Living by just the revealed principles can lead to legalism. It has its role just like the Law has its place but then it has to be superseded by something better and that is a personal relationship with Him and hearing personally from Him all the time.
As examples in the Bible, Noah heard from God personally, Abraham heard from God personally, Moses heard from God personally, Paul heard from God personally, None of them lived off of someone else’s revelation and they went on to change the world.
Only if every believer today will be passionate about hearing from God personally and live by being led by the Spirit of God, we can revolutionize our life and in turn change the world upside down.
Even Jesus said, I do only the things that I see my Father do (John 5:19). He was in constant relationship with His Father and did what the Father said or did.
So we need to spend time alone with Him in Prayer and in His Word and discipline our self to pursue to hear from Him. The Holy Spirit is there to help us personally. He doesn’t always speak in an audible voice, but he does speak and you can hear if we just be with Him long enough. We will know his voice in our spirit. Jesus said, my sheep hears my voice. (John 10:27)
Let us be aware of His presence all the time and develop that personal relationship with Him.
